Port Moin, Costa Rica.

Berth Nbr. 5/1 (*)During the months of January, February, June, July the maximum allowed draft shall be 9.60 m

Position 5/2, 5/3, 5/4, 5/5 n 5/6 are for Banana ships and self contained conventional vessels. 5/5 also used for chemical tankers (discharge operation) this Port is an "open face" Port exposed to the ocean during the month of December, January and February, the whole complex is severely affected by E-NNE and NE winds, with a variable strength of between 20 to 30 knots. This condition is accompanied by heavy swells influenced by strong depressions from the north, during these months, it is usual to have some degrees of difficulty in maintaining ships firm alongside the berths and occasionally as a safety measure, vessel must be shifted to roads.

Note:

For operational safety reasons, according to port authorities regulations, petroleum tankers over 130 m. Loa will not be berthed between 16:00 Hrs. until 05:00 Hrs. of following day.

Port Caldera, Costa Rica

Location: Lat.09°54’ N Long 84°43’ W

1. Wharf  Description:

1. Water depths in the approaching channel 11.5 m.

2. Restrictions: Loa 205 m. Draft 9.5 m.

3. Vessels can enter or depart at any time.

4. Tugs: Compulsory for berthing and undocking (two tugs available).

5. Port authority provides personnel "Stevedores" throughout 24 hours.

6. Fresh water can be supplied by Port Authorities via  A&A

7. Repairs alongside not permitted.

8. Caldera is situated 130 kms West from the capital city San José and about 20 kms of Puntarenas

Note:

• Bulk carriers, banana ships and cruiser vessels have priority.

• Vessels with 9.5 m draft subject to height tide.

•  Lashing material not allow to unload.

• Dangerous cargo to be reported 48 hrs prior arrival.

• Notice of arrival thought agent 72-48-24-12 hrs.

• Documents as follows:

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

Location: Port Puntarenas is located in Gulf of Nicoya in Lat 9° 58' N. and Long 84° 49' W.

Port Puntarenas was out of operation, because of the construction of Port Caldera, but recently it was opened back for an Investment of the government of Taiwan, building a finger pier that will be used exclusively for cruiser vessels. The port authority is the same as in Caldera, so as the regulations.

Pilot age: Pilots are available and compulsory, arranged by Agent.

Max. Size: One finger pier of 600 m. length with two berthing places arranged in both sides, approximately 300 m. available and 9 m. draft.

Restrictions: Recommend that vessels not equipped with radar enter in daylight only.

Anchorage: The discharge and loading of vessels in anchorage is exclusive for FERTILIZANTES DE CENTRO AMERICA S.A. using their own barges (5 ea.) of 200 m. capacity, enjoying of a concession of port authority to work in anchorage.

No restrictions in draft or LOA for vessels (pilot is compulsory).

Crew and vessel launch services is give by private company. No water or fuel available in anchorage.

Port Golfito, Costa Rica

Location: Lat 08°.37’ N Long 83°10’ W.

1. Documents:
   2 certified copies of Clearance from Last Port
   6 certified copies of Crew List and 6 copies for distribution.
   6 certified copies of Passenger List and copies for distribution
   2 certified copies of Cargo Manifest and 25 copies for distribution
   4 certified copies of Stores Provisions List and 6 copies for distribution.
   3 sets of bills of lading.

2. Notice of Arrival: Radio Agent at least 24 hours before arrival advising date and time of arrival

3. Pilot age: Private pilot authorized by port authority. Arrival has to be notified at least 24 hours in advance.

4. Anchorages: Anchorage area to S.E. diagonal towards end of quay. Depth 35 ft. Area 1.000 m. By 300 m. approx. Quay distance: Approx. 500 m. sufficient space for 2 vessels.

5. Restrictions: Vessel allowed entering at any time, day or night.

6. Max. Size: The maximum draft allowed is 9.5 m.

7. Tugs: No tugs. A private launch takes lines from vessel to quay.

8. Berthing: Vessels berth starboard or port side.

9. Stevedores: Three stevedoring Companies offer their services. Work 24 hours a day

10. Fresh Water: Port authority supplies any quantity at a rate of 50 t.p.h. Through shore hoses.

11. Gangway / Deck Watchmen: Available and compulsory.

12. Opening / Closing Hatches: Normally carried out by vessel crew.

13. Identification Cards: Required.

14. Repairs: One workshop that can do small repairs such as soldering or small winch repairs.

Punta Morales, Puntarenas, Costa Rica

A. - Wharf:

The wharf is made up/composed of three dolphins, joined together by bridge type-metal plates. The outer dolphins have bits used to tie/fix the side mooring ropes. It also has two mooring buoys, to the south side, where the long ropes and slings are tied., in addition, there is another dolphin and buoy, anchored to the west of the wharf, where long ropes are tied and also, sometimes, the crossed ropes are fixed.
